The second article in this magazine was Hero's Raising Hero's. I could relate to this article. I have been homeschooling for 3 years and some days are daunting and I want to throw in the towel but ultimately I know that is not God's will for my family. Raising them in His Word in centering our homeschooling on Him and times I wonder if I am doing everything correctly especially when a behavior issue arises but then when I step back and see God at work through a certain circumstance I know He is changing their hearts. I know God is the hero not me, because it is Him at work! Then as I continue to look through The Old Schoolhouse Magazine I see different curriculum ideas and activities that I haven't seen at homeschool conventions. It's great to see all the different resources out there to teach all ages with different learning styles. Then there is the Last Minute Gifts Directory is loaded with products that are perfect for learning and not just toys that will be tossed to the side but can be used in daily homeschooling! Great suggestions for Christmas gifts! One of the products I was completely drawn to is Sensesational Alphabet. Currently teaching 2 of my children (5 years and 3 years) their alphabet and letter sounds I found the Senseational Alphabet is a very hands on learning tool. It allows children the fundamental communication skills through movement, scents, touch and sound! Plus there is a Braille and Sign Language feature! The Senseational Alphabet book can be purchased directly from Senseational Alphabet for $29.95.
