Toy State's CAT Mini Take-a-Part Truck Review

To contact us Click HERE

Recently I was able to review one of Toy State new Fall season vehicles. I received the Mini Take-a-Part Truck and sat down with my son for some "research" aka playtime.

CAT Mini Take-a-Part Truck
The CAT® Mini Take-a-Part Truck allows kids to take off pieces and reassemble. I love this idea!

Toy State CAT Mini Take-a-Part Truck

For my son, the fun part was "breaking" his truck. But as I watched him I saw how he was actually learning manual dexterity and problem solving. I watched him try to figure out how the pieces clipped back and which parts went where. The trucks aren't hard to put back together and the 3/4 pieces are large enough to be handled so while my son had to figure it out, he didn't get frustrated or angry.

There's a large selection of Cat Preschool Mini Take-A-Part Machines (Suggested Retail Price: $7.99 and up, Ages 2+) featuring Pull-back driving action and engaging take-a-part play with classic Cat machines. Assortment includes: Dump Truck, Wheel Loader and Skid Steer.

All CAT products are available at Toys R Us, Wal-Mart, Kmart, Target and Amazon.com.

Ology & Duane Reade Keep Families Healthy & Happy #DRHappyandhealthy #CBias #cbBigapple

During this time of year, from Thanksgiving to New Year, my son and I enjoy spending time with family and friends. We love visiting and being visited. The holidays are a great time for that. But on the flip side, do you know what's not so great about these visits? Especially if your home is the one being visited? Running out of household items. Yup.

Ology and Duane Reade Keep Families Healthy and Happy
After Thanksgiving last week, I had to visit my local Duane Reade to stock back up on household supplies.

Ology and Duane Reade Keep Families Healthy and Happy
During our family visits some items go VERY quickly. Like toilet paper! Since I really want to avoid seeing this, it's probably a good idea to get some extras before the next round of visits.

Duane Reade Healthy and Happy mobile circular
So I quickly grabbed my phone and checked out the latest Duane Reade circular on their mobile site. Since I'm not always at home in front my computer, I like that I can see all their circulars online using my smartphone. I was able to check out their new in-store magazine “Happy and Healthy” and see the latest sales and offers.

I noticed the new Ology line of products, had some great sales but are also free of chemicals and child safe. There was a little blurb from a pediatrician about the allergies, autism and asthma connection to chemicals found in everyday common household products. Since many of the items I needed included toilet paper, paper towels and facial tissues, which are used by my son, I decided to shop this line as a safer alternative. Check out the circular in-store or online to read more of the information.

Ology and Duane Reade Keep Families Healthy and Happy
Once inside my local Duane Reade, I quickly found a hard copy of the online flyer and started my shopping.

Ology Soft and Strong Bath Tissue
I quickly found the products from the new Ology line and filled my basket. The packing on Ology is not only pretty but also very informative. The labels told you what the products does and why it's safe.

Ology and Duane Reade Keep Families Healthy and Happy
After getting the main items, I cruised the isles for a few other household items. Mainly snacks! Then I headed to checkout and used my Balance Rewards Card to save money on sale items and gain reward points.

To see photos of other Ology products I found (and my snacks), check out my Google + photo album: Ology and Duane Reade Keep Families Healthy and Happy #DRHappyandhealthy

Your Name: Amy AKA Rockin' Momma

Where do you blog? Rockin' Deals 4 You

How did you decide on what to name your blog? My son loves to play Guitar…well any musical instrument and always seems to be rocking out some kinda of (So-called) music. And since I’m on this journey because of him, I only thought it right to name by blog Rockin’ Deals.

Tell us a little bit about you:

My husband, Dave and I have been married for 16 years. A little over 4 years ago we were blessed with the birth of our adopted son, Jace. Jace is a very active 4 year old. I never thought I'd be running my 4 year old around to sports and classes, but he keeps me busy. I worked for 13 years at a local daycare before Jace came along. I've been a stay at home mom for most 4 years. I now work at a local preschool as the preschool assistant 2 days a week. I love being able to get out of the house but I still get to be a stay at home mom!

When and why did you start blogging?

My frugal journey started about 3 years ago, after the birth of our adopted son, Jace. Mostly to help off set the cost of diapers, wipes and formula. I had been finding lots of great deals and wanted a place for my family and friends to read about them, too. So, Rockin’ Deals was established on March 16, 2010. I'd been blogging for about 4 years before that on our personal family blog.

What do you blog about? I mostly blog about freebies, samples, coupons and HOT deals. But I also do reviews and giveaways.

What does your family think of your blog? My husband was the one who helped me get started. He designed my blog layout. I'm so thankful that I have a husband who is able to do some much on a website!

When do you find the time to blog? I try to do as much as I can while my son is in preschool and in the evenings after he goes to bed. But as a frugal blogger I hate to miss a good deal, so I'm off and on all day looking for the best deal to post!

What is your favorite item you ever reviewed? Divvies Bakery and Imagination Movers Concert

What advice would you give a new blogger? Make blogging friends. It's great to be part of a group of people who think like you do and have the same kind of goals. Help out other bloggers and they will help you in return. If it wasn't for other great bloggers my blog would not be where it is today!

PERFECT POTTY TRAINING TOOL - HUGGIES PULL-UPS TRAINING PANTS #HUGGIESPULLUPS #CBIAS

To contact us Click HERE
My 3 year old daughter potty trained pretty early for during the day but staying dry during the night has been a struggle. She wakes up wet most of the time so we have moved her into Huggies Pull-Ups Training Pants. We purchase her Huggies Pull-Ups Training Pants at Walmart. We find that their prices are the best for this product.  My husband just installed new wood flooring in her bedroom over the weekend and we have been blessed to receive a set of bunk beds from a friend so her bedroom has a had a make-over. We headed to Walmart to purchase some more Huggies Pull-Ups Training Pants and a mattress cover for her new bed.

We also picked up a few incentives for her to stay dry at night time. Coloring books, sticker books and bed time books.

We try to stick to these simple potty training tips in our home when potty training our children:Potty training if your child is not ready wait a few months and try again.Don't get frustrated because then your child will get frustrated and may not want to try to train. When your child is ready use the Huggies Pull-Ups Training Pants  .Ask your child frequently if they have to go potty or bring them every hour to the potty and encourage them to go.When they use the potty praise them. Even use incentives or a reward chart to track their progress. This will encourage your child to use the potty! When not at home bring a change of clothes just in case of accidents. Keep a little potty in the car for on the go. I have had to use our times frequently while on the road. For nighttime training, do not give your child liquids at least an hour and a half prior to bedtime.Make sure your child uses the potty before bedtime.
Huggies Pull-Ups Training Pants offers Pull-Ups Training Pants for day time potty training for boys and girls 2T and up. As well as a Nighttime Pull-Up! (Left is the Nighttime Pull-Up which has an extra absorbency between the legs for dry sheets)

We choose Huggies Pull-Ups Training Pants because they are easy for her to put on by herself, they have fun princess designs which makes it not a struggle for her to change from wearing underwear during the day to Pull-Ups Training Pants at night and the bonus is that they keep her bed sheets dry at night!

For your convenience Huggies Pull-Ups Training Pants and potty training incentives can be purchased on-line from Walmart at the same Rollback prices with your choice for in-store pick up or delivered right to your home!

Not only does Walmart offer a large selection of sizes, design patterns and quantity amount per package at the store but they offer the same deals on-line too!

You can stay up to date with more Huggies Pull-Ups tips and information for your potty training journey by following Huggies on Facebook and/or Twitter.

BATMAN POWER ATTACK TOY PARTY

To contact us Click HERE

Have you heard about the new Batman Power Attack toys? My boys are superhero fanatics and when they saw the new Batman toys they were super excited that we were selected to have a Batman Power Attack toy party with our friends.
Our party kit contained:
10 BATMAN POWER ATTACK™ Basic Figures - Batman never shies away from a mission and always possesses courage and strength even in the most perilous situations. With the six-inch Power Attack figures, kids can create their own adventures.
4 BATMAN POWER ATTACK™ Deluxe Figures -Kids can play out action-packed Batman stories with these highly articulated posable figures. Each character has a signature action move, giving kids the ability to keep villains at bay.
1 BATMAN POWER ATTACK™ TOTAL DESTRUCTION™ BATMOBILE- The Power Attack BATMOBILE allows kids to play out exciting chase scenes with their favorite six-inch characters cruising in full-security around the streets of Gotham City. So a Batman party it was. We invited some of our friends in our neighborhood park. Where we set out all the Batman Power Attack Toys for the kids to look at and play with.
The kids played on the playground and then they played a game of BatMobile Chase Race.
And then the boys put on their Batman masks which I made from black card stock. I printed off, traced, cut out and then used yarn to tie the backs.  For the girls I did the same thing but I added a pink ribbon to theirs with glue.

Then it was time for the Batman cupcakes and as the Batman party close the boys each got to take home their own Batman Power Attack toys of their own to play with!  The boys reactions to the Batman Power Attack Toys were typical boy, they loved them! After the party my boys went home and continued to play with their Batman Power Attack toys and have still enjoyed playing with them. They are versatile so that the weapons and can interchanged. The characters are not flimsy but they are nice and bulky which are perfect because boys tend to be rough. These toys make perfect Christmas gifts!

Follow Mattel on Facebook and/or Twitter and stay up to date on Batman toys!

I received The Batman Power Attack  products in order to host a Batman Party. Mattel did not influence my opinions expressed here as a result. Thank you to Mom Select and Mattel for the opportunity.

WHAT TO DO WITH LEFTOVER TURKEY (RECIPES)

To contact us Click HERE

Typically we go to my family's house for Thanksgiving but this year we stayed home. In doing so we made a turkey with all the fixings but what did we do with the leftover turkey?  Turkey Noodle Soup (you could also use chicken in place of the turkey as well) Ingredients: 4 cups of turkey shredded1 bag of egg noodles1 package of chicken broth (48 oz)3 large carrots1 celery stock1/2 of large Vadilla onion2 tsp garlic powder2 tsp bay leaves3 potatoes peeled

Chop up all the vegetables and cook (I boiled) until soft. Then boiled egg noodles will cooked. Then added the cooked egg noodles, cooked vegetables and shredded turkey (it was cold but cooked originally for Thanksgiving) and then added the chicken stock and cooked for 20 minutes all low. This recipe made enough to feed my family of 6 (some of use had 2 bowls) with enough leftovers for my husband and I to have lunch the next day.  Toasted turkey melt sandwiches Ingredientsshredded turkeycheddar cheesebread (I used mountain bread from Publix)  Take a small layer of cheddar cheese and layer the bread for the bottom, then add the shredded turkey and then another small layer of cheddar cheese on top of the turkey then add the top piece of bread. Place in the oven or toaster oven on broil until the bread is toasted and the cheese is melted! Both of these recipes are super easy and take almost no time to make! Keep these recipes in mind the next time you have leftover turkey!

)– Sesame Place, the nation’s only theme park based entirely on the award-winning show Sesame Street, is currently preparing for its Christmas festivities. Set to open on November 17, “A Very Furry Christmas” is a one-of-a-kind family-friendly celebration with everyone’s favorite Sesame Street pals. The park is  transformed into a winter wonderland filled with lights, trees, shows, music, treats, rides and Santa Claus!
“A Very Furry Christmas at Sesame Place is designed to immerse guests in a winter experience that allows them to see the Christmas season through the eyes of our Sesame Street characters” said Robert J. Caruso, Park President. “We hope to bring out the child in everyone with the millions of lights, the garland hung with toys, and the music, shows and special Christmas parade.”
The 20-day event allows guests to experience Sesame Place in a whole new way, with a 25-foot Christmas Tree that lights up the night in sync with Sesame Street holiday tunes, three Christmas shows, a great selection of wintertime treats and Christmas sweets, and awesome holiday shopping at the park’s two gift shops. Santa Claus will also visit the park each evening to hear Christmas wishes and pose for photos at Santa’s Workshop, where kids and adults alike will enjoy talking with a cheerful interactive snowman before being greeted by joyful elf attendants.
“We hope A Very Furry Christmas will become a staple in the region’s family-friendly Christmas entertainment,” said Caruso.
